The One Where Aaron & Britney Got Married

My brother got married!! We had such an awesome weekend in Utah, and we're so happy for Aaron and Britney. They were married June 21st in the Mt. Timponogas Temple, and they're just perfect for each other. We are so happy to have Britney as part of our family.

We had a dinner on Friday night at California Pizza Kitchen with both immediate families and the grandparents.

Saturday was the big day. It was an awesome day, despite the record high temperatures peaking at 98 degrees. They were married at 1:00 pm, and even though I couldn't witness it I know it was an awesome sealing. It was such a happy day, and I could just tell they are so happy together. Many family and friends came from out of town to go to the wedding. The reception was held at Thanksgiving Point and it was beautiful. Their colors were pink, brown, and ivory, and all of our outfits looked great together. The reception turned out awesome. It was like a fairy tale! A lot of family and friends we haven't seen in a while were able to come to the reception. It was a lot of fun being able to see them all.

It was a quick weekend, but it was amazing. I'm so proud of Aaron and Britney for their choice to get married in the temple. We love them!

Let the Forces Unite

Last night was so fun! After a long day of work I had a game night with my friend Tyson, Clark (my high school friend and Tyson's brother) and Clark's wife Kristi at Tyson's house. But this wasn't your average game night, oh no. This was the big leagues. We decided to combine three of the best Play Station games out there to make one big, radical concert:

We had a crazy good time, I just wish I had pictures! We had some pizza first before we started all the hardcore rocking. We started out with Rock Band (which I had never played before) and just switched around the four positions the whole time. Those drums are so hard! The others were pretty good on them. I could play them on medium at highest.

After Rock Band (and occasionally drink breaks - that game is intense!) we started up the Guitar Hero. We went from Guitar Hero 3 on battle mode to Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's. Awesome! I love 80's music, it's my favorite. The battle mode was fun because on the third game you can mess with your opponent by doing things to them, such as turning their buttons left-handed and making their guitar vibrate. Clark and Tyson got insanely into that.

After Guitar Hero we moved on to Sing Star. I had never even heard of Sing Star before, but I love it! We played both the Pop Hits one and the 80's one, but I liked the 80's the best. That is such a fun game! It's a lot like Karaoke Revolution but I like it better. We played guys against girls and battled. At one point it was Tyson and I singing together, then Kristi and I, then Clark and Tyson...it was a lot of fun. It threw us all over the 80's!

At this time I'd like to give out some awards to my fellow rockers from last night, so here we go!

Best Drum Solo: Tyson, "Tom Sawyer" - by Rush

Best Vocal Duet, Sing Star 80's: Clark & Alli, "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" - by Wham! (That's right, we went there!)

Best Vocal Solo, Sing Star 80's: Tyson, "Take On Me" - by A Ha (High notes and all! Very impressive.)

Best Vocal Duet, Pop Hits: Clark & Kristi, "These Words Are My Own" - by Natasha Bedingfield

Last night was great! We had so much fun, and I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time. I really needed it. Good times!

Thankful Thursday

It's about that time of the week! I love Thankful Thursday. It gives me the opportunity to really think about the things I'm thankful for and share them with my blogging friends.

#1 - Fitness

I am thankful for the opportunity I have to work out and stay healthy. I have a gym at my apartment complex that I use five days a week and it's perfect. I've been trying hard to eat better and work out more over the last two months and am proud to say that I've lost 20 pounds. Woo hoo! Sure feels good. I love being able to excercise when I want, walk to class every day, and eat healthy. It hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be, and it has turned into one of those habits I love. (I will never give up my chocolate though!)

#2 - New Friends
I have a lot of friends, I do. Over 500 on Facebook even. But I just love meeting new people and making new friends. This week I have had the chance to make a new friend and it has been so fun getting to know him better. A person can never have too many friends! I don't know what I'd do without all of my friends.

#3 - A Running Vehicle

I take my car for granted! It goes from Rexburg to Idaho Falls and back so many times throughout the week, and it's just been awesome for me. I've had a car payment for the last two years, and I'm grateful I have the means to pay it. I'm grateful I have something I can get around in and is reliable for my needs. I love my Camry!

These were kind of random things to be thankful for, but they are a few of the things I have been thinking a lot about lately.
I'm just grateful to have the life I have and the people I have in it!

Our Weekend with the Clemens Family

This last weekend was awesome! Full of fun and family. Britney's bridal shower with our side of the family was on Saturday, then Aaron was ordained an elder on Sunday. It was so great, and the spirit was so strong in that room. After the ordination we had a barbecue with the Clemens family. Grandma and Grandpa Murri came over as well. The sun finally came out for a little while so we broke out the ring toss games. I love my family so much, and it was so fun being able to meet Britney's family as well.

We had such an awesome weekend! I can't even explain here how great it was. I am so incredibly proud of Aaron, and I can't wait for him and Britney to be sealed for time and all eternity in the Mt. Timponogas Temple. It's a great feeling knowing my brother is marrying into such an amazing family. Thanks, Clemens family, for a great weekend!

E is for Ev Dawg

I had such a great night! And I had to work, which makes it odd that my night was so great, but it was so awesome!

It began when I came into work. I wasn't too excited and I was also a little nervous about the section I was in. I'm not a big fan of big tables. But I was looking forward to my roommates and some friends coming in to sit in my section.

When I got there at 5:00 I was greeted by Ev Dawg, aka my friend Evan. He's been living and going to school in Pocatello and is now back in Idaho Falls for the summer. We met working at Carino's back in our hosting and table tending days and I just love him! The fact that he was working with me tonight was good enough. My attitude changed and I was excited to be there. There were lots of other friends working too so it was just fun.
My roommates came in and sat in my section tonight as well. There were about 13 of them. Lots of fun!

(Photo: Evan and I with Ashley, Marita, and Rachel at Ashley's wedding last summer)

We all had a good time working together. And I ended up having an awesome shift and making a little over $150. In fact, every server in the building made atleast $100. It was exciting for all of us. So we decided to celebrate by going to T.G.I. Friday's for drinks. Evan, Jamie, Kayla, Maricela, and I had a great time laughing and discussing our nights. It was so nice to just relax and hang out with some old friends. After such a long week or two of tests, homework, and nonsense in other areas of my life it was so refreshing to make good money and spend time with friends. We had a great time.

Everybody left as soon as their drinks were finished, but Evan and I stayed behind to visit more. I've just missed him so much, and we had such a good talk. We're going to dinner and a movie sometime this week to catch up. Evan is one of those friends you know is a real friend because it doesn't matter how long we go without seeing each other; we just pick up where we left off.

I had such a great night, and I really wanted to share it with my blogging friends.
I love Ev Dawg! And I get to see him tomorrow too, yay me! He definitely made my night the excellent night that it was.

A Nightmare Almost Come True

We all have nightmares or fears that we hope we will never have to experience. For me, one of those moments happened last night while I was at the gym.
_______________

I was running on the treadmill in my apartment complex gym at about 9:15 pm and I was watching the Utah news. I had my music going so I turned the captions for the TV on so I could read along.

They eventually got to a story about a car accident on I-15, just north of Salt Lake City. A car was trying to change lanes and apparently didn't see the car that was in the lane they were changing into. The car in that lane tried to swerve out of the other's way and hit the concrete barrier. The person in the second car (that hit the barrier) was killed, and her name was Danielle Perry. After I read the name of the girl my heart stopped and I hit the emergency stop button on the tread mill. I pulled my ear phones out and turned to the girl on the machine next to me and asked her the name they just said on the news. When she said "Danielle Perry" I immediately broke into tears. A friend of mine, Danielle Perry, recently moved to Salt Lake City with her husband who is a news anchor for channel 2 news down there.

As I gathered my things together I had a million thoughts running through my mind. I couldn't comprehend anything, except for the fact that quite possibly a friend of mine could be dead.

I walked back to my apartment in tears. When I got there my roommates were gone. I was alone, and I didn't know what to do, who to call...It was horrible. So I called another friend of mine who is also a friend of Danielle's. She tried calling Danielle and her husband, but neither answered their phones. I could only think the worst at this point.

So I searched the internet like crazy, looking for some answers. None of the news web-sites gave any information, and if they talked about the accident they didn't give any names. I even called my parents and asked them to watch the Utah news at 10:00. It was 9:30 at this point and I was beginning to panic.

By 9:45, and after a lot of internet searching and tears, my friend called me back and let me know that she just talked to Danielle and she was fine. We both sat there in tears but were laughing at the same time. What a relief!! I was so happy to hear the good news. And to top it all off, Danielle is pregnant with her first baby. So exciting! And much better news to hear than what I had thought. I called my parents back and let them know she was ok. They were very relieved as well.

There is nothing worse than finding out a loved one has passed on. But to see it on the news first has got to be one of my worst nightmares. I was so glad when it wasn't true. I can't even tell you how much that freaked me out last night! I was in a major panic, ask my mom and dad. It made me realize how quickly life can change. I'm grateful for my friends and my family, and I just love you all so much!

_______________

I am happy for my friend's safety, and at this time my thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of the real Danielle Perry that passed away yesterday. I hope they can feel the loving spirit of our Heavenly Father during this trying time.
