Time to Baby Proof Already?

I knew this day would come, but it seemed so far away. Now, here we are! Brycen hasn't started crawling yet (he's getting really close though), but he is able to move from different parts of the living room by getting on his knees then sitting back down a different way. But he hasn't been able to get too far. Until last week. I was in the kitchen and heard what I thought was the drawer of the entertainment center opening. Sure enough:

He is almost 10 months. But I guess I'm not ready for him to grow up and start being mobile. All these new milestones are exciting, but also a little sad to me. To give you an idea of how far he went in that short amount of time, he was originally sitting in between the "Despicable Me" minion and the stuffed turtle:

Then yesterday I looked over and saw the door of the entertainment center open with the culprit still attached to the handle:

It seems he will be taking off on his knees any day now!

Two-Piece Jammies

We put two-piece jammies on Brycen the other night. He got them from his Miller grandparents and they are so cute on him. But they also make me a little sad. He looks so much more grown up in two-piece jammies.

And it doesn't help that he's going to start crawling any day now! Dear Brycen, please don't grow up too fast.

Bring On the Puffs!

First off, I recently ended up losing the font I had for my post titles and such. Does anybody know how that would happen? It makes me sad to lose it, considering it took forever to get it. Anyway, any tips would be much appreciated!
...
We finally got Brycen a highchair. We found that and a car seat for great prices through diapers.com. One thing we especially like about this highchair is the tray that sits on top. We can take just the small top layer off to clean it instead of taking the whole big tray over to the sink. We also like the four different height levels. Brycen loves his highchair. He sits up nice and high in a comfy seat and can eat all the puffs he wants. We can't believe how much this little guy is growing!
Santa brought Brycen a new flavor of Puffs in his stocking (peach) and he loves them.

We've also discovered how much he enjoys Ritz crackers.

He also loves the Gerber fruit blends. Especially plums mixed with bananas and apples. He also likes garden vegetables and squash.
Foods he doesn't like:
  • vegetable blend
  • macaroni and cheese
  • turkey and turkey gravy (Tyson tried it and says it tastes like cat food. Delicious!)
  • green beans

Ill

Our house was full of sickness last week. It was miserable! Especially after Brycen got sick. Tyson and I had the stomach flu for a couple of days, then Brycen came down with a bug. He had a high fever for five days and had diarrhea as well. Totally miserable. Especially for him! The picture above speaks for itself. He definitely wasn't himself. The diarrhea got so bad he ended up with some dehydration. He had a wet diaper last Friday night and didn't have another one till Sunday evening. And it was barely anything. Monday morning he woke up and had wet the bed. I've never been so happy washing the sheets!
We've had a great week. I've had a bit of stomach flu again so hopefully the boys won't get anything. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. In the meantime I'll be sanitizing EVERYTHING.

Two Years - Our 400th Post

And here we are, 400 blog posts later!
Today Tyson and I celebrate two years of marriage.
It feels like we have been married longer because I don't remember what life was like before we were together.
I love that feeling.

In this last year of marriage we have had many experiences:
  • The most important was the birth of our son, Brycen, on April 5th.
  • We traveled across the state of Oregon and stayed in an awesome beach house right on the Oregon coast for a week.
  • We bought a new tv. That was a big deal for us!
  • We both received callings that we thought were bigger than us: primary chorister and executive secretary. And since then I have been called as the second counselor in the primary presidency.
  • We bought our first piano. What a great day!
  • Tyson turned 30.
  • I started teaching piano lessons.
  • We celebrated a lot of "firsts" with Brycen, including holidays, rolling over, and eating solids.
And because of the last two years we are able to take a picture that looks like this one. Brycen has been the biggest blessing and we love him so much.
I love Tyson so much. And even though I don't look like I did when we got married and I'm not always in the best mood, he loves me anyway. I'm so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man. Thanks for being you, Tyson! I love you, and happy anniversary!

The Murri Family Christmas Party

Can you believe I'm still trying to get Christmas posts finished? I'm pretty sure this is the last one so this is good!
We attended our annual Murri family (my mom's family) Christmas party on December 27th. It was held at my grandparents' house and it was a lot of fun as always. We enjoyed a baked potato bar for dinner, a lot of yummy treats for dessert, and plenty of games. My dad and brother Adam were in Utah visiting Grandma O'Connor so they didn't make it. We also missed out on seeing a bunch of other family members! You were all missed so so so much!! (You know who you are.) :)

Amber and I made Christmas ornament cupcakes that turned out really cute.

The delicious treat table
It's always so full!

Lee, Amber, and Amy (who was enjoying one of the cupcakes!)

After dinner we played a gift exchange game that was really fun.

Then we had a nice program with lots of music and spiritual messages. Always a nice part of the evening! This is my cousin Cooper playing the piano. He's a very talented pianist.

Hadlie performed a ballet routine for us.

Lauren played the piano as well.

My uncle Lance sang a really funny song that we all greatly enjoyed!

My cousins Logan, Tyson, and Austin (brothers) sang "Jingle Bell Rock" in chipmunk voices. It was pretty funny!

My mom always helps us out at these parties with Brycen!

Amy and I accidentally wore the same shirt. And my mom and Amber accidentally wore the same shirt! At Thanksgiving my mom and I wore the same shirt (different one from above). That's what happens when we all go shopping together!
