Oh, the Gall

I've been really behind on getting wedding pictures posted. Not just because I've been busy, but I've also been sick. Not too fun. In fact, on Saturday night around 2:30 am I woke up with horrible chest pains. I thought it was heart burn, but it felt so much worse. I went into the kitchen and had some peanut butter to see if it would help. Not even a little bit. Then I took some pepto bismol. It didn't do anything either. By 3:00 the pain was moving into my stomach, my side, and my back. I was getting really worried and thought maybe I should go to the hospital. Tyson ended up taking me to the ER at about 3:30/4ish and they hooked up up to an IV, shooting me with multiple pain relievers. It was lovely. After an ultrasound, it turns out I have an imflamed gallbladder and one really big gall stone. And now I have to get my gallbladder taken out.
I've never had surgery before so I'm nervous. I'll meet with the surgeon today at 4:00 and hopefully have the surgery tomorrow. I was actually hoping to have the surgery today, but it didn't work out. In the mean time, I'm feeling minor pain and watching closely what I eat. I can't do anything strenuous so I won't be working this week. It's frustrating, but atleast it isn't something worse.I'm just glad it didn't happen the weekend of the wedding! Wish me luck on the surgery!

Awh, I feel so bad for you! Surgery can be really scary, so just make sure when you wake up you milk it for everything you have, and eat tons of ice cream! It was so good to see you at your reception, I didn't realize how much I miss you! Hope all is well and your surgery goes fine.

Yikes! That's scary. Sorry you've had so much pain. My sister had to have her gallbladder removed, and she had three kids at the time. That doesn't help to much with the recovery part of the surgery. Good luck, and I hope everything goes well. Take it easy when it's over! :o)

Man, you are so lucky that you caught it early. I started having gal bladder attacks when I was pregnant with my first and they just got worse after. I think that the pain is far worse than child birth because it just doesn't let up. I will be honest with you, it takes about two weeks to recover. It is terrible and you won't be able to do much. Plus, you will have a terrible pain in your shoulder, I know, weird. Good luck and I hope you actually get to have surgery tomorrow but you will probably have to have a GI first and they can't do them both on the same day.

Hope you get feeling better soon girlfriend! The good thing is that that surgery usually isn't too bad.... so you should be good :) Let your new hubby take good care of you and take it easy for a little while. Good luck!

Sorry you have to get surgery, hopefully everything is good with your insurance (sometimes marriage complicates stuff like that). Surgery is always scary at first, but you will be fine and being put under is pretty cool. It makes you a little kookie. Just remember when you wake up not to say everything that you think, cause you will want to talk A LOT! I think back to things I remember saying to my nurse and I am a little embarrassed.
